SUTRAK was formed during the mid-1970s, when two college
friends and entrepreneurs recognized a worldwide need
to provide comfort to passengers on public transportation
systems. Together, they pioneered the roof-mounted air
comfort system for the transportation industry, and have
since made it an international standard. In 1981, SUTRAK
expanded into untapped frontiers with the construction
of a major manufacturing facility in the United States.
By the mid 1990's, SUTRAK had grown to two world headquarters
in Germany and in the United States overseeing 17 international
divisions. The company achieved international recognition
for its design, technology and its worldwide distribution
and service network. In 1996, SUTRAK USA became an independently
US owned and operated company when it sold its international
holdings to United Technologies and retained rights to
North America.
Today, SUTRAK Corporation is one of the three leading
international manufacturers of air comfort systems for
mass transportation vehicles. The United States operation
has produced over 25,000 air comfort systems that are
operating in transit vehicles all over the North American
continent. Corporate and sales headquarters are in Denver
and the primary manufacturing facility is in Lamar, Colorado.
We continue to focus on creating new and innovative designs
that provide optimal cooling, fit and appearance, as well
as meeting the evolving needs of our customers. In an
environmentally conscious world in which mass transportation
plays an increasing role, SUTRAK Corporation has developed
climate comfort systems that meet the requirements of
diverse transit authorities, bus and light rail manufacturers,
as well as consumers.
